SmartCommunities
is the
establishment of a centralized
network of communities, working
together to garner a greater
knowledge and understanding of the
crime occurring in and around
themselves and their neighbouring
communities, with the intention of
structuring intelligence based
operations and preventative
measures in order to mitigate and
combat crime.
It has been established to assist the
many voluntary community
support and reaction units that
have been set up around South Africa
with the intention of combatting crime
within their neighbourhoods and
farming communities. it will allow
each to share intelligence information
within their own structures as well as
enabling basic analysis processes to
garner an understanding of the
dymanics of the crime occurring in
their area while establishing a visual
picture of the crime dynamics
involved.
